Superb Samsung December 30, 2008 Mr. R. F. Lebelinski (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellentay! Ordered this Monitor on a Saturday with the SuperSaver Free Delivery option and it arrived 08.00am on Tuesday. 10 Mins later I have the monitor built, connected and all Driver software installed. Samsung have really created a Great product here, included in the package is the usual Multi Language Leaflets, Quick Start Guide, Warranty card, Driver CD, UK & 2 Pin Power lead, VGA Cable, DVI-D Cable and of course the cleaning cloth. This Monitor looks as good when its dispalying vibrant fast paced images as it does on standby (You can change the brightness of the blue power button) Amazon Service: 5/5 Delivery Courier: 5/5 Samsung SyncMaster 2032BW: 6/5
Samsung SM2032BW recommended December 27, 2008 R. Dewing (Hampshire UK) Can't fault it, this is a top notch bit of kit. Performs brilliantly and looks good too.
Samsung 2032BW December 19, 2008 Spizarklez (Mexico) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had been wanting to upgrade my old 17" CRT monitor for a while, and saw this on special offer, and took advantage. It came well packaged, and had DVI & VGA cables. It also came with UK & European plug leads as well. Also bundled with it was some software, pretty basic instructions for setting up the monitor, and a screen wipe. Was simple enough to set up, and I never needed to install or download any other software to get it running. Colors seem nice and vibrant, and I have yet to even play around with the settings for them. I went and played Call of Duty 4 on it, and it looked great. No ghosting or anything else. Same with I Am Legend. The only drawback I can think of is that it comes with a pretty feeble base for the monitor. It wobbles when you press the menu buttons for the screen. Not a huge deal, just something to note if you keep your monitor on something unstable. Also, it has no HD ports so if you wanted to hook up your PS3/360 you would need to buy a converter cable.
A good monitor for a web-designer? December 16, 2008 Mac user (United Kingdom) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this monitor for the fact that you can connect it to a mac and a PC at the same time, and switch between the mac desktop and the PC one with the press of one button, as mentioned in a previous review. Having looked at several cheap-end-of-the-market monitors I paid a few extra pounds to get this one. As a web designer I'd recommend this monitor for anyone who needs to see their designs on both PC and mac as they work, without a lot of faffing around. (Previously I had Boot Camp on a mac and inevitably got tired of rebooting the computer everytime I needed to take a look in windows. Please note that I bought a s/h PC, this is a standalone monitor, not a computer). The screen quality is more than adequate for this purpose. Took me about five minutes to learn my way around the menu, then spent another five minutes adjusting the colour via RGB to match that on my main screen, which is a Formac Gallery. Now when looking straight on at the screen the image quality for the desktop is virtually indistinguishable from the Formac, which is a superior monitor and three times the price. Switching to windows I found I didn't need to adjust any settings. It looks just fine on both platforms. The PC to Mac switch is its best feature for me, really great. If your PC times out and goes to sleep the screen will swap over to your Mac, assuming you've enabled the desktop extension on the Mac. I found no disclolouration at all either at the top and bottom as mentioned by a previous reviewer. Nor are there any dead pixels. If you stand up and look down on the monitor the whites have a blueish cast. If you stand off to one side and look at 45 degree angle the screen has a golden sheen to it, so if you need to look at your computer at an oblique angle, better go for something twice the price. I have my screen slightly raised because it is sitting on top of a horizontal computer base and it looks fine like that. I notice if I raise my seat so my eyes are level with the top of the screen and sit closer to it than I normally would the whites in lower part start to have a slight turquoise shade, but if you view the screen at the correct distance and height then there are no differences in any part of it. I wouldn't expect anything else from a monitor at this price. (Check the viewing angle statistics in specs) This monitor is as quiet as a mouse, is fairly sturdy and the surround is both stylish and inconspicuous. Only trouble I had was getting the monitor to slot onto its stand. It was very stiff and I was afraid of breaking it. This bit was tricky so be careful. It does work as it says it should. Can't comment on video or games as I don't use it for that. Other reviews cover these topics. In summary, the picture is crystal clear, contrast is excellent, it has a wide colour scope for adaptability, easy to set up (didn't even look at the manual), easy to work with across both platforms and no trouble at all. Haven't noticed any flicker or unusual tiredness or eye-strain and I've been using it for a week. (Funnily enough when trying to take a video shot of the screen the Formac was flickering more than this one, through the camera) Very happy with it, especially for the money, thanks Amazon.
Dead pixel ! November 25, 2008 S. Kenney 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Excited about getting the product going by previous reviews, however it soon wore off as I have an annoying dead pixel that Samsung say "it is within the ISO specs". Beware with LCD screens as I for one would not buy another Samsung without seeing it operational first.. Other than that it is good
