Fantastic value - October 22, 2008 Coerciveboy1 (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent product! Images are sharp and well-defined, a boon to someone whose eyesight is not as sharp as it used to be. Thankfully when the screen is perpendicular it is also fairly well-raised from the desk which is just as well because there is no height adjustment - the tilting option makes for even more comfortable watching.
Stunning Monitor August 28, 2008 Christopher Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first purchased my HW191D in Jan. 07. I now have 2. These are absolutely FANTASTIC monitors. I had a slight bluetinge problem on one, but HannsG warranty is superb, doorstep swap. The value for money is brilliant. The picture is superb, and the brightness and viewing angles are great. The monitor also has DVI, Ideal for me, so I can run two off one graphics card. Even on VGA, the picture is great. To top it all off, the display is fully VESA wall-mountable. Classic!
More than adequate June 17, 2008 Brian of Wiggin (Preston, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Got the monitor because I was replacing a laptop. As I am not a gamer, graphic artist, nor database freak I was looking for something cheap which looked good. Monitor arrived in good time. However, they had managed to pack two vga leads and software rather than a vga and a power lead. Ironically, I did not need the vga lead as I had bought a dvi lead. Because I work in IT I had a spare power lead but you may not. Dvi lead does allow you to rotate the screen but, as you cannot rotate the monitor it impossible to control the mouse until you tilt your head to 90 degrees! Didn't know it had speakers, tried them, but went back to dedicated speakers immediately. It comes with a perspex sheet taped over the monitor for protection. The bonus is it makes a great crazy mirror - I have not taken it off yet .
Cheap, and okay March 13, 2008 R. Court 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Coming from an old 17 inch 1600x1200 capable CRT, which was definitely darker than I wanted in the dark parts of games by the time it failed, this is a bit of a change. I mostly used my CRT in 1280x960 mode, this is natively 1440x900 and I'm really missing the few lines from the bottom of the screen. This is sometimes sort of shimery/silvery (eg when scrolling fast), maybe all LCD screens are this way, I don't know. I tried it first on it's own VGA cable, it chopped off the edges of the boot-up screen diplayed by the BIOS before windows started, some of the lower resolution modes were fairly uncomfortable to look at on VGA, when the DVI cable arrived the monitor improved considerably in these respects, the BIOS display isn't cropped at all. I'd definitely recommend getting a DVI cable.
Excellent value August 19, 2007 Mr. M. Moore (Berkshire UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Needed an economical solution to replace an old screen without spending loads. Arrived quickly and was easy to set up. Picture is great and seems fine. I have seen other reviews on this from very discerning people. Value for money it does its job. Only very minor issue is the inbuild speakers are only just ok. Fine for standard computer use but music playback streches the boundaries a little. But my daughter is delighted with it. Good price, good equipment.
