Best fun to be had with this game September 30, 2008 LW (Birmingham, UK) I am still playing Lost in Blue 2 but have to say it's even better than lost in Blue, they have made the features better and more exciting by having tornadoes, tidal waves, earthquakes and many more things that the 1st one did not include. The mini games are better as well and the cooking especially is 10 times better than the 1st game. You still need patience and strategy to get thru especially in the begining when your stamina is not that great but with time it becomes easier and quicker and you can explore for longer if you play it right! All in all great game to play!
Very disappointing June 2, 2008 L. Goodchild (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm so disappointed with this. Like a previous reviewer, I thought this would be exactly my type of game - and it would, if I didn't die every five minutes. I'm sure it's perfect for skilled gamers (which I'm not) but personally I prefer games which allow you to use your brain and skills without imposing a crippling energy scale or similar which constantly needs replenishing. To be fair, this is purely a review according to my personal preferences, but there may be others like me who might choose not to buy it for the same reasons. On the plus side, the graphics are excellent, in general the gameplay is compelling and (if I could ever get there) I'm sure the other parts of the game are worth exploring. But I don't have hours and hours a day to commit to collecting food for my character and its hopeless partner, so for me the game just isn't fun. Really disappointing.
Great very addictive game, but you need patience! March 30, 2008 H. Wyld (Cardiff) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I got this game after buying Sims Castaway and finishing it within a few days! The reviews for this game said it was really hard to survive so thought I'd give it a go as I wanted a challenge. After trying to play it for a few days and getting extremely frustrated with it because I kept dying and not being able to get into the game I gave up on it for a few months! What I fool I was. I got it out again 2 weeks ago and decided to be patient and not explore too far too quickly. I quickly noticed ways I could get further without dying and now I have found all sorts of ways to cook, hunt, build a 2nd hut etc. I have been totally addicted to it since starting back up on it and I only wish I'd given it more of a go in the first place. This game is much more difficult than Sims 2 Castaway and because of this I have found it much more rewarding as you have to work hard and be patient for every new item to discover and every day survival! I completely recommend this game, but keep in mind that you need to be patient and you will be rewarded!!!
Sadly marred by ridiculous food/water/energy levels June 28, 2007 Stormy Baby (UK) 14 out of 21 found this review helpful
This is exactly the sort of game I thought I would love. The story line is great. However Ive only had this game 3 days and its driving me nuts already. You have to explore the island to get any further in the game, yet the characters food, water and energy levels plummet spectacuraily every time you leave the comfort of "home" so it makes it near impossible to get far without dropping dead! It totally ruins the game because of this. Its a shame as this could have been a great game.
Even better! May 28, 2007 S. L. Farrant (North London) 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
If you enjoyed Lost in Blue first time round then I definitely recommend this one.If you've never played it before but you like life simulation games then give it a try. It's not as hard as some reviews suggest and when you do find something or somewhere new it's very rewarding. There's a lot more to do this time, more places to live and a much larger island. You can play as a boy or a girl and your partner will look after him/herself if you leave supplies in his/her backpack and tell them that you're going out for a few days. The building mini game is much improved as is the cooking. Diving is also included but it takes some practice getting used to it. Overall an excellent game which is highly addictive.
