Decent December 11, 2008 L. Windsor (UK) Good game, good story. Good features. I have been told by lots of people and experienced the fact that its VERY hard. It can be done but its not something you can relax or chill out and play?
Just annoying in single player. November 21, 2008 Benito (London) Checkpoints, what checkpoints? This game is NO FUN in single player. As someone else said "You'll find it stops being challenging and just becomes a frustrating repetitive chore." Does that sound fun? This kind of bad programming should've been left behind in the PSone era... Winning here is not about being alert or being a good shot, it's just about `remembering where the bad guys appear from' - like some old Commando game. I wouldn't mind if it had an imaginative plot but it's the same 'go into a building and shoot some people' nonsense as before... Yawn. I really think you'd have to be the kind of person who never leaves their house to be bothered playing this. You'd probably punch the air when, after playing a level for the 217th time, you finally finish it. I've got better things to do. Online might be different, I don't know.
Best 1st shooter ever (except no.2, but there's hardly any difference) November 6, 2008 Cristina Saenz De Cenzano (Bristol, England) I played vegas 2 at a friends house and thought it was amazing. When i bought my xbox in a bundle i thought i was getting vegas 2 but actually i got vegas 1. I was a little dissapointed at first but when i started to play on it i found it was almost exactly the same. The weapons the gameplay, Everything. The only difference is the graphics are a tiny bit worse and you can't sprint. Pros - Like vegas 2 but came out in 2006 and must have been the best then Amazing blood effects Some people say enemies dont die easily, but it depends on where you shoot them. Very Realistic: the weapons aren't like snipers if they have a scope you have do shoot about 4 bullets to hit them Cons - Quite hard at first but you get good in an hour And i'm not sure there are more cons Gameplay - 5/5 Shooting - 5/5 (realistic) Graphics - 4/5 This is more of a tactical game you die a lot easier but you have to kill them before they kill you and sometimes when you're reloading they miss you anyway! A must buy even though i've just bought vegas 2 anyway. All in all this a cheaper and maybe more fun vegas 2
something different! August 12, 2008 Tom 360 (England) this game has a duck and cover feature that means if you fight in open war fare you will be slaughtered. this feature gives pointless blown up cars and other objects a point .... for cover. this means you can pick off the enemys one by one safely. it also adds a very high degree of enjoyment and makes this game different or EVEN better to other FPS's. this games single player has a very good life span (as i havent completed it yet)and has the ability to keep you enticed. this game also allows you to pick from a wide range of weapons and allows you to customize each one to your own personal specifications.it also has a feature called terrorist hunt which allows you to primeraly illiminate hostals, saving you the trouble of rescueing hostages. this adds to the interest of this game (although these can be a little nerve racking) all in all this game has an appeal as it allows for a completely different gaming experiance and is for players who want a game that requires at least some stratergy and a fair bit of stealth.this game can only get better as i have no idea of the capabilities of multiplayer as i dont have the adaquate equipment for xbox live. the one annoying feature is that on terrorist hunts the enemy can sometimes sporn behind you or in places you have already been to or cleared out.i really hope this review has helped or affected your decision on weather to purchase this game .... Tom
Stealth not crash bang August 12, 2008 Mystery Shopper (Coventry, UK) Having owned an Xbox 360 for about 5 months now I have intensely played a number of games that I am comparing this to (Halo 3, COD3, COD4, Half-life2, GTA 4) This is different from your normal crash band shoot-em-up, much like Metal Gear Solid (PS3) you are a small team (and sometimes an individual) who have to fight often large numbers of bad guys. The skill is in learning the uses of different weapons and how to take cover and fire over and around objects. There is real fun in using your team members to clear small rooms with flash bangs, grenades and explosives. If the terrorists are stupid enough to stand near doors then use it to your advantage. The use of the snake cam is a good touch. You can survey the room before making an entry, which you should do at all stages. This is a game where the AI is well trained and aggressive, and they like to sneak up on you too. Don't be fooled into running into areas where there are likely to many more bad guys you will get killed. The graphics look a little dated compared to more modern Xbox favourites, but that's to be expected. They are still good and give a real sense at time of what life as a `Special Ops' could be (rather than working in IT and writing reviews on Amazon). My only `beef' with the game was the lack of sensible save points. On a modern console with 20Gb of storage the last thing I wanted was to have to play a tough 20 minute sequence only to die (which is easier than you think, as one shotgun blast will do it) and have to play the entire thing again. Plus when you `outfit' at certain points you expect that selection to stay with you, it doesn't. If you die you have to come back to the checkpoint and`re-outfit' which seems somewhat bizarre and at times very frustrating. To make the most of this game: Learn to take cover ! (Learn to shoot around and over things) Have a hand gun, sub machine gun and a sniper rifle. Dont just use sub-machine guns Try the shield in really tough situations, it works ! Have grenades but mix it up with smoke for situations in the open and lots of bad guys or incendiaries for smaller spaces packed with baddies If your a more tactical player this is for you, if your more of a `run-and-shoot' you may find this disappointing as you will invariably play certain parts a number of times. It's meant to be fairly life like, as such even the `normal' setting is tough For the price though there isn't much else this involved and tactical, my copy was 13.... Enjoy !
