Berlin Stettin Route Add-On for Microsoft Train Simulator (PC CD)

The add-on contains four distinct routes, both main, branch and sub-routes, and even the Berlin S-Bahn (which is a Rapid-Tranist Railcar service). Berlin Lichtenberg to Stettin is the main route. Stettin is in Poland, and that part of the route has the seperate, original Polish signal system. Other routes include: Angermuende to Schwedt, Berlin Ostbahnhof to Marzahn and Berlin Ostbahnhof to Karlhorst.

They were using steam engines right up until the 90's in parts of Eastern Germany, and some of these are featured in this add-on. There are 7 different steam engines in this add-on, 2 diesel locomotives and the Berlin Rapid-Transit Railway Railcar called the BR 275. All are designed here in superb detail, from original photographs and in some cases, from actual visits to the locomotive in their respective museums!

A lot of work has gone into this route and you can tell this by the attention to detail. The landscapes are often very industrialised and then once you get out into the country, it's totally deserted, just greenery and woods, very realistic of the old East Germany! At certain stations you will see posters with the hammer and sickle on it, advertising the power and greatness of Communism!

The route is long in distance and the activities proivded will keep you occupied no doubt. A superb package with a detailed manual telling you all about the route, the engines and their histories. Included on the CD-ROM itself is an online manual, giving you even more detail and background information on the add-on and the route.
