5 out of 5 stars very rare in ecellent add-ons   November 10, 2008
Mr. M. Wray (UK)
I've just got this today and its really fantastic, it has sooo many qualities in a MSTS Add-om that you just simply dont expect, for etc..

Things to keep you looking at whilst driving past them, the view of the sea that makes u wanna watch as u go along, you know i could just go on and on with the amazing qualities in this essential Add-on.. but i wont go on, altho i must add that the night drives have surprised me too,

they've tried to contempt you even more with the their excellent lighting attempts, which I've notice that lacks in most Add-ons, well, the ones i have atleast, I like the random orange street light blobls, which bring to my attention yet again!, I love add-ons dont get me wrong, i dont care care how rubbish they are or good, but good the better, i just enjoy driving in them, its just relaxing, but this,

this is really good, altho i must say the Station Pwllheli is slightly different, cos these days it has one line, and just on one side, but, its cos this is most likely to be based in the earlier days...

but i am not complaining, there isnt a thing to compl, ain about with this expansion pack... just a notice to thos who dont appreciate real small stations, that this add-on does contain these, but it clearly states these are request stops for in real life, so if you dont like this add-on for that reason, then you're basicly being silly lol,

So, I dont have any complaints, this is a completely, trully, madly, Deeply, great expansion, not a flaw in the world.. I also want to say thank you to the guys who made this, (Tho they probably wont read this sadly :(..)

Thank you anyways for making an master piece...

This game is crab! the station edge is like 1 mile away from the train and the trains are hard to drive and stupid!

I do explore route with class 158's (actually run this route now- Arriva trains wales).

the train doesn't fit into most of the stations.

This similation is as good as it comes. The coastal ride from pwllelli to aberystwyth descibes the area in winter as well as in summer. Having holidayed in the area for years and ridden the train many times, I am well pleased with the game and can recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars Great add on..!   November 3, 2004

This really is a great add on for the ever growing collection for MSTS. You can see they have researched the area well. It has caught the feel of the period too- with the old Transit vans and Mini's! As most of the layout is single track, you don't need to concern yourself with any complexities with signalling etc. It's great to just get in the cab and explore... I would recommend this one, but if you want speed there are others on the market- not to mention the forthcoming London- York add on at the end of 2004.

5 out of 5 stars Enchanting add-on of Welsh rural route   October 8, 2003

This add-on has been available for a while as a limited, mail-order add-on. But at last Aerosoft have seen fit to give it a full commercial release on their roster.

Made by dedicated programmers, you can tell they really put a lot of time and effort into this route which they clearly love, this add-on is just superb. It spans a number of decades, from the 50's to the 80's, so you get diesel engines, as well as some steam engines too! The beloved DMU class diesel railcar is in this add-on too, in both it's older green, and later, blue and white, liveries.

The route itself is picturesque. A beautiful seaside route, you travel over windy moors, along wind-swept coastal rocks and past scenic views through seaside towns and villages. The route is fairly long, and its shelf life is further increased by the realistic speed limit of 60 km/h at most. So a long journey will indeed take a long time!

The route goes from Machynlleth to Pwllheli, along with a branch line to Aberystwyth. Have a look out for Dovey Junction. Many of us English and Irish people know what it's like being made to change trains at a junction. Usually it's in the middle of nowhere and looks somewhat eerie and deserted. I think Dovey Junction represents this perfectly, it captures the feeling perfectly!

Added realism is given by having to contact the signalman at red lights, who speaks back to you and gives you instructions.

There are plenty of activities to do. This is a top add-on. I think it is its quaint charm which makes it so appealing. There aren't many English based lines out there available commercially in the shops, so this one should do quite well.
