Amazon.co.uk Review
Everybody move your feet--it's time for fun: whether you're a beginner, a fanatic or looking for a new exercise routine, Dancing Stage MegaMix, which features tracks by Kylie Minogue, Sugababes, Elvis vs JXL and The Cure, is going to be an enjoyable addition to your PS2 collection.

There are three modes of play--game, workout and lesson. Game Mode allows you to choose to play the arcade version (one player), a two-player challenge, or for the truly gifted, there's Double-game play--one player, two dance mats. With an incredible choice of tracks and some inspirational cheering ("You're a super dancer!") from the voice-over guy you'll have danced yourself dizzy in no time. Bonuses are awarded for free-style moves, with additional tracks and hidden items unlocked as the game progresses.

Got no rhythm? Are you a dance mat beginner? Check yourself into Lesson Mode--with three lessons comprising eight separate sections you should master dance mat basics and get yourself familiar with some moves and sequences within an hour. Or if you're after an alternative to sweating it out in the gym or jogging the same streets, try Workout Mode--set your own goals, choose your workout type and watch the calorie counter ticking over.

Dancing Stage MegaMix is for everyone--with dancefloor favourites from Kylie and Elvis vs JXL, and younger audience tracks like S Club Junior's "One Step Closer" (as well as The Cure's "Love Cats" for anyone who may claim not to like pop music), no-one will be able resist getting footloose. Those waiting their turn can sing along courtesy of karaoke-style lyrics that appear on the bottom of the screen. Points to note: a dance mat is not strictly necessary (though very much recommended), and you can turn off the background booing during game play via the Options menu. --Mel Pring

5 out of 5 stars Bemani at its Best!   February 1, 2004

I can remember hearing a lot of hype going around my school, mostly from girls about this game. At that time I didn't know anything about this and just thought it was another stupid girlie game. But then I went round my mates and his sister happened to have dancing stage: euro mix. I asked him about it and he said that he didn't know too much about it. So we plugged the mat to the ps2 and loaded in the game. I was INSTANTLY HOOKED!! The game was a masterpiece and about a couple of days after that I bought Dancing Stage: Megamix. The hype was on so when I first played it I can remember going on it for 5 hours without stopping, the game was brilliant. It needed no explanation. The game was fluid there were a lot of modes to try, a lot of extras you could add to the song to make it harder or easier. You can even make your own steps to go with different songs. There were enough songs to master for at least a good 3 months. After that, that was the only game I played for a couple of months, I would slowly work my way up from standard to expert and master my technique step by step until it was perfect. This is truly the lord of the dance and the most addictive game I have played in my life. Now days my mate and me train up and we go to the arcades and show everyone our moves. If you have the slightest interest in dancing even a little bit then get this game, it turned my perspective right around!!! Absolute BRILLIANCE!!!

Mega Mix is a really good game, whether you just want to have fun or exercise. They've developed a new type of step that really makes you think on your feet. This is where the player has to keep their foot on the mat for a certain amount of time.

The narrator is a lot nicer than the narrator on the other two games. This game also keeps the score a lot better.

The movies in the background are incredible to watch while the music is playing. They've really worked hard on these.

Its a shame they don't have any characters dancing in the background like before, but they do have the lyrics to your favourite songs along the bottom of the screen.

I think this is a good improvement to the last two games and I would really recommend it.

I brought a dance pad a couple of days ago to go with this game. The game uses the directional buttons to perform a dance move. This game is good for excerises so no more trips to the gym and it uses songs which are recent hits. The down side to this game was that you could not see a character performing your moves apart from the lesson mode. It is good for a party and to lose some weight.

Well I am the owner of several other dance games and this is much better. The new look is much more modern and pleasing to the eye. The only doubt I have is that there are a limited section to songs and you have to unlock special ones, but it doesnt tell you how! But if you do enjoy dancing games then this is a brilliant game to have for parties and such alike.
