1 out of 5 stars My 2 rechargeable batteries are not charging at all   January 5, 2009
Mr. S. Sasitharan (UK)
I bought this station 2 weeks back, on the first day of use, the first remote rechargeable battery gave up (when I put the remote on charging dock, the green light doesn't change to red, it remains on green), AND after 4 days of use (about 4th time charging from new), the second battery went down completely. Now I am using normal batteries for the remotes.

If u really want to keep things tidy, then u go ahead and buy it. But there are lot of disappointments with this item. Please read other reviews for them.

Thanks.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing !   December 28, 2008
Shaz (London UK)
I bought this power station after reading the (mainly positive) reviews, only to be very disappointed.
The unit is quite bulky and a little ugly with the tacky blue lights.
The fan is very noisy,(not silent as described) and the unit makes the wii console vibrate, which is also quite noisy.
The connections that charge the wii handsets are a bit hit and miss, the handset needs to be in exactly the right position to charge and the chargeing lights seem to flicker at random with the slightest movement of the handsets. When you dock the numchucks, this can also easily dislodge the handsets.
I returned my unit after 24 hours, and am now looking for something of better quality.

I've had this for a few weeks now so have had chance to use it quite a bit before reviewing. I originally picked this particular one as it did look quite stylish and also had good reviews. Here's how I found it...

The good points are it's look, the fan operates very quietly - if you have the volume at a reasonable level on your game you probably won't even notice it, the switch to turn the fan and smart looking LED lights off is a nice touch, the cables of the nunchucks can be neatly wrapped up and tucked away behind the nunchuck itself instead of hanging out the front of the unit so it always looks tidy.

The only negative points in my opinion are the lack of instructions - I had to read reviews on here before I even realised there was a fan and LED lights that both needed to be activated by a switch on the back of the unit. And the biggest negative point for me is to do with charging the controllers, obviously the main reason for buying the unit. There are 2 green lights on the front of the unit which turn red as you place the controller in to charge. As it's green before you put the controller in, I assumed that it would turn green once it's fully charged, but this does not seem to be the case (this is where some instructions would be nice). The first time I used the unit I left the controllers on charge for 6 hours but the lights stayed red the whole time. Today I put them on charge for just under 10 hours and still the lights remain red. To me this would suggest that they don't turn green once they're fully charged, unless they take longer than this for a full charge which I wouldn't have thought. Bearing this in mind that means I've totally no idea how long they take to charge, as with no instructions there's nothing to tell you. I've searched on the net but can't find anywhere with this information.

If only there were instructions, and the lights changed once the controllers were fully charged (as they do on the X Box controllers, this would easily be a 5 star product. Just a shame they let slip on such an important feature.

If anyone does know how long these do take to charge please could you leave a comment here to let me know and also anyone else interested in buying this item. I'd hate to over charge the controllers and damage the battery units inside.

jus got this wii station today and it doesnt seem 2 bad at all. all of your wii things fit in it well especially the console, although u will probably have to take the skins off your wii remotes and the numchucks will fit with the leads in aswell u jus have to sort of coil them up. from reading other reviews before i got it, i was a little in-decisive as of the fan being loud and you cant turn the fan off without turning everything off. but everything off only means the blue lights on the side and the fan. you can still use the wii without the fan and lights being on. charging the controllers can be done without the wii actually being on you jus need to have the power on (e.g the plug socket). also linking back 2 another review the fan in my stand doesnt need any batteries either to work it uses the main supply of power to the stand. So all in all it is a good accessory for the wii and worth the money for what you get.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this unit   September 1, 2008

Just received this unit and have just returned it for a refund. The 3 position selector switch at the back for engaging/disengaging fan etc. doesn't do anything. It is a non functional item. Only one of the charging bays actually works and this only produces a minimal recharge. Supplier helpline number goes directly to a mailbox and so is a complete waste of time.In my opinion, a heap of rubbish!
