3 out of 5 stars That good?? Not too sure.   November 9, 2008

I find it hard to justify everyone else's 5 star raves about this controller!
Perhaps I have a duff one but the d pad control is dire! It is practically impossible to use this gamepad with GT4, which I like to use and unless you physically make sure you press the relative direction it just doesn't move, what I'm trying to say is that it isn't senitive enough, nowhere close to the Sony DS2,
However, if you only use the analogue sticks then this gamepad is a joy and the wireless is faultless.

Unfortunately for me this d pad issue really let's it down, hence the 3 stars. If you're not bothered about using the d pad then I'd give it a 5 star rating.

Update - Have sent this controller back for refund. Bought another and the d pad was fine.

5 out of 5 stars great   October 25, 2008

got his pad this morning.its logitech and the build quality is excellent.some people mentioned that they didnt like the analogue sticks but i actually really like them.ive not lost the wireless connection once and setting it up was simple and easy.really cannot recommend enough .so anyone still havin fun on ps2 go out and treat yourself to one of these you wont be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Just about perfect   October 22, 2008
Bushy (London, UK)
Bought 2 of them. They work just as you would expect - no different to the wired dualshock ones we've had for years. The 2 controllers work out which is which automatically and they don't interfere with each other.

Only complaint is they don't seem to go into standby while the PS is switched on so if you pause your game and then wander off, get distracted by a phone call or something and come back an hour later they'll have used up batteries in the mean time. Would also be nice if they had some sort of rechargeable option so you could plug them in after playing and just be ready to go again next time.

Minor criticisms really though because the main thing is that they do what they should, which is control the game as you would expect and allow you to sit in comfort on the sofa rather than on the floor within wire range of the telly.. Don't know why we didn't get these years ago!

5 out of 5 stars Great piece of kit   October 16, 2008

Set up in no time and it works faultlessly. Has a nice solid quality feel about it. Very impressed overall.
To give you an idea of the range, the original wired controllers fell about 1M or so short of where I wanted to sit and as it claims 10M range on the box it is more than adequate.

5 out of 5 stars The defenitive wireless controller for your PS2   June 21, 2008
Niall Wilson (Jolly Old England)
Anybody who has shopped third-party should be well aware that there is a multitude of wireless controllers available for PS2 (and none of them are first-party either), of course as with everything, they all vary in quality, this being the 3rd wireless controller i've used, and the fact that it being wireless was probably what put me into buying it over another DualShock2 since Sony didn't bother doing a wireless variation.

The controller itself, is like most others, has a dongle that just plugs into the controller port and acts as the reciever, the controller itself as a matte feel to it as opposed to plastic, this acts as a grip and is very comfortable, the buttons, one thing I have found with most third-party controllers is that the D-Pad is supposed to act like an analog stick (third-party PS1 controllers were first to adopt this so people could play Digital-Only games with an Analog-Stick like D-Pad, and it sucks) and the buttons are stiff and not easy to press.. no worries here. The D-Pad is like a Megadrive D-Pad for people who remember the Megadrive, and the buttons are just alot like DualShock2 buttons. I preferred this alot to the other wireless controllers for the PS2. I cannot comment on the battery life yet as I have not had the controller for long, but I would definetely recommend this to anybody looking for a great wireless controller for your PS2, because hey, there might be next-generation consoles such as the 360 or PS3 (personally I own a PS3), but when will Metal Gear Solid 3 lose it's replay value?

In summary, this is pretty much the best wireless controller available for the PS2, if your looking for a wireless controller to replace the aged wired DualShock2, look no further. Sure, it's alot more expensive than other wireless controllers, but you get what you pay for eh?
