pants January 1, 2009 C. Rowley i thought this would really help me get back into cooking, i was wrong. i found a lot of the ingredients hard to get hold of, the voice activation is too sensitive and if u dont use that u get a very messy ds. all in all i found it a great disapointment, and wish i had bought the jamie oliver one instead.
Waste of money! December 29, 2008 J. Beaumont (uk) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is completley useless, it advertises an easy way to cook that is quick and convienient. The recipes are rediculous if you were to try an cook one of these dishes at the last minute you would be stumped as there is no way you would have the ingredients in they have no common recipes, ie, Bolognese or enchiladas, and the only english they have is (wait for it) curry, now i'm sorry but when has curry been a british dish, I bought this to help out with some basic recipes ideas for spices and an difference in cooking however to find all the ingredients is impossible and the dishes are un heard of, I expected to be able to recreate meals id enjoyed in restaurants not possible!
I loved this game December 29, 2008 C. Gregory This is the best recipe game it gives you a step by step idiot proof guide how to make all the recipes. you can choose by country which I thought was genuis. I recommend this to people who have never cooked but are keen to learn as it is so easy to follow or if you just want new recipes.
would recommend December 21, 2008 J. Gesicka 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have to say that I was quite pleased with the "game." I like how it takes you step through step of each thing that you need to do, and it can easily by adjusted for 2 - 4 people. I am dissapointed with the voice recognition. It picks up every possible sound that there is and the game gets all confused, and when you do say "continue" it just ignores you. So that is an issue, it would be better if there was some kind of pause button or to turn of the voice recognision.
A useful, polished little thing November 26, 2008 Ms. R. Graham (Newcastle) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm utterly rubish at cooking. I also cannot allow my mother to try and teach me how to cook because she is annoying when she does so. When I heard about this game I was incredibley pessimistic, it had the potentional to be awful like a lot of DS educational games but this isn't one of them. It's so easy to use, however the voice recognition is an issue though, often not working because of the background noise. Here's a handy hint, pop your DS in a little plastic bag to protect it and you can put your filthy mits on it as much as you want! I love the note taking capability and after cooking the dish I write the rough price of each dish so when I'm skint I can see what I can afford! I'm off to Spain for a month soon where I shall have to fend for myself and this will be a great tool to take with me when I'm stuck for ideas. I also think this would be a great idea for getting kids involved in cooking as it is an innovative, fun and clever tool whilst at the same time appealing to the adult market.
